Happy New Year!
Nothing major happened over here during the festive season. We were just drinking coffee, reading books, watching films and waited for Christmas and the new year to be done because we are going to Mexico in a couple of weeks.
I had a very deep and meaningful post drafted for you about new year’s resolutions and all that but I forgot what else I wanted to add to it so you know what? fuck it!
Not everything that we share has to be deep, meaningful and inspiring. The older I get, the more I realise that life is more enjoyable when you take things lightly and with a sense of humour.
This year I’m committed to doing more of the stuff that makes me happy and I’m hoping to get deeper into it: Study more art and photography, read more books, talk to more people, ask more questions, train harder, get more flexible.
I’d like to be able to save a bit more so we can start planning to buy our own place. I’d like to be patient, laugh more and take life a lot less serious. Easy, huh?
In a couple of weeks, we are going to a wedding and this morning I realised the last time I wore a shirt and a tie was at my own wedding, nearly 10 years ago!
I need a new suit and the current wife is panicking because I didn’t sort this out earlier.
Why am I telling you this? I don’t really know but instead of giving you patronising tips on how to get better at something this year, why don’t you work on yourself and your own happiness. Not for someone else’s?
Whatever your goals are this year, I wish you all the best!
